Excellent book review. All of the studies coming out about Vitamin D have certainly made my ears perk up. I hope Dr. Holick follows your observation/suggestion about citing sources.

The bottom line is that more data and more research are needed. Both studies had trouble recruiting patients, so the resulting groups were very small.

And then there’s the question of what effect the facet injections had. Page 571 of study says “that a solution of lidocaine and bipuvicaine was used”….so regardless, the success of the “placebo” wasn’t all in someone’s mind.
